The mausoleum of Jakob Badl, a horse and wine merchant, the founder of modern health tourism in Krapinske Toplice, is located on a hill above Krapinske Toplice, near the chapel of St. Mary Magdalene. Badl was born in 1803 in Rogaška Slatina, and died and was buried in Krapinske Toplice in 1884.
In Badl's time, a forest park was arranged on the hill above the spa – a promenade with benches, from the Church of the Holy Trinity to the Chapel of Mary Magdalene. Today, this trail includes the Pedestrian Ring of Toplice, which originates in the Central Toplice Park. From the very top, where the mausoleum is located, there is a view of the hills of Zagorje, the peaks of Donačka gora, Maceljska gora, Strahinjšćica, Sljeme, and sometimes the view reaches as far as the Savinja Alps in Slovenia.
The easiest way to reach the mausoleum today is through the street that leads from the parish church of the Holy Trinity to Fučkarov Brijeg, after which it is named.
