The unique pear tree line along the road in Švaljkovec is a monument of park architecture. Once the tree-lined avenue stretched along today's state road D1, but with the construction of the highway now you can enjoy it if you travel the local road from Krapina to Začretje. These pears are the Kieffer variety also known as lemon pears due to their lemon-like appearance. It is an early winter variety of pear that has been cultivated precisely because of its interesting and beautiful appearance, its lemon-yellow color, and special smell and taste. The canopy of this pear tree, which is narrow and long, grows to a height of 10 to 17 meters, so it is often used for tree lines along roads and paths. That is why it is also called the road pear in the north of Croatia.
