The castle is a category I monument. It is located in Valentinovo, at the entrance to the town of Pregrada. It was built at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. Bežanec Castle belonged to the Keglević family, the Kollenbachs family, and the Ottenfels family until 1945. The castle was renovated in 1990 and converted into a Siniša Križanec heritage hotel.
