There isn't a part of the entire Zabok area that exceeds 300 meters above sea level, but it offers beautiful opportunities for hiking or walking the Ksaver trails that Ksaver Šandor Gjalski used to walk on. The Picelj mountain house is located on the top of the very scenic Picelj Hill near Zabok, at 212 m above sea level. Next to the house, on the slope below the terrace, there is the botanical collection Picelj Educational Park, which presents the natural heritage of Hrvatsko Zagorje, but also raises the awareness of visitors about the need to protect nature. The access trail starts in Zabok, from where road signs lead to the mountain house.

From the mountain house there is a view of Sljeme and Samobor Hills to the south, Cesargradska Hill and Kunagora to the west, and Strahinjčica and Ivanščica to the north.
